Bare Feet // JATW

Bare Feet

Bare Feet // JATWI stand on this dirt patch that my son likes to dig out of, feeling the damp cold underneath my toes left from the incessant amount of rain that happened over the weekend.  It’s humid out here, but not the sweat-my-ass-off kind. There’s a slight coolness to the small breeze that passes over my face, bringing the aroma of summer grass mixed with the first stages of autumn leaves. It’s coming, I can feel it. Fall is almost here. It arrives late for us Floridians, but it arrives nonetheless; especially in North Florida.

The sound of dragon fly buzz accompanied by the songs of two different species of birds rings just loud enough to create an accompaniment track for outside speculating. Not too strong, as it often is in the woods, but just as you would expect for a rural part of town where nature collides a little less manicured with the modernization of human creation.

The muted sky is overcast, but the sun still shines through the clouds enough to make me squint, and I succumb to my closing eyes, taking it all in with my other four senses.

If I accomplish nothing else today, which may very well be the case, I can at least know that I’m valued. I believe it to be true; His Word tells me so. But He is reminding me with the dirt, and the breeze and the buzz and the light.

I am alive, and I am loved.

To Be Inspired.

I’m a very visual person, so I really enjoy inspiration that I can look at and that will stimulate me, even if it’s in a small way.

I’ve been adding to my daily visual inspirations here and there, as I’ve gotten little bits of spending cash. For those of you that know me, some of these additions have been thrifted. But I’ve also really gotten into smaller, artisan prints and creations lately, and have enjoyed supporting other’s talents. It’s nice to buy something and know exactly who’s hands made it.

I just cleaned off my walls this week, and I’m excited to start putting all of these pieces up.

Thrifted Pieces // JATW

I found these at a local thrift store, and both in such good condition. Usually pieces like these are stained or some of the thread has been pulled out. The top one is an especially encouraging inspiration.

The Bee and the Sea // JATW

I’ve been following Betty of deerlittlefawn for quite some time now, and finally decided to purchase some of her gorgeous prints. It was really hard to choose, because all of her stuff is so great. I’ll definitely be back for more. If you like what you see, go grab some prints at The Bee and The Sea .

Makers Gonna Make // JATW

When I was visiting Greenville, South Carolina a few weeks back, I was finally able to visit Knack Studios and see my spirit animal Angie Thompson. She was sweet enough to give me this print by Jude Landry from The Makers Summit she attended. Sidenote: if you are EVER in or around Greenville, please go enjoy Knack Studios. You will not be disappointed.

Jesiiii print // JATW

This print speaks for itself. It’s just the most adorable thing ever. Want one? Go get it at jesiiii’s etsy page! She has gnome pillows, hand painted rings, and all kinds of handmade pieces.

Flower Tapestry // JATW

I really, REALLY like this. So much. And I don’t know why. It was a dollar at the Hospice Attic in town and it’s not even finished… I don’t think? This tapestry is perfect just the way it is.

Vintage Bohemian Platter // JATW

I mean, just look at it.

Florida Panther // JATW

Ya’ll, this is so fun to me. The frame is huge, so I just took a closeup of the middle. I’m not NOT going to buy a giant embroidered Florida Panther. Gosh.

This is nothing new.

Break All My Bones Part 2: Fear is a Liar.

I know that my blog posts are so spaced out, and I really apologize. We have been without a computer for several weeks now. We’ve had three computers die on us over the course of the summer, and it’s just been the dumbest thing. So I am reduced to blogging in my spare time at work.

Anyways, one day I will get to the real meat of the Break All My Bones series on here, but here is some more of that.

Fear is something that has always ruled my life, and just recently has God really been pulling that out of me by it’s bloody root. To help my mind accept that living in fear is not living at all, I ordered some vinyl lettering from my job and put it up on the bedroom wall right next to my bed. This stuff is big, bold, and and blunt. It’s the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I see when I go to bed.

IT IS THE TRUTH. It is reality. And it is helping me immensely.

What keeps you from living life with joy, peace, passion and rest?
